Remembering The Fallen

Through means of our Radiant HEROS Fund, our goal is to assist fallen, injured, or severy ill first responders and their surviving families. The help that we have provided to our first responders community is all thanks to you!

(Those pictured below have either been injured or have paid the ultimate sacrifice since the formation of the Radiant HEROS fund (Dec 2022). This is our tribute to them. Not all individuals pictured have been directly assisted through us.)

Reserve Deputy Brad Miller

Dec 12, 2022, Reserve Deputy Brad Miller was killed in a vehicle crash on Highway 43 near Williamsport Pike while working a traffic detail at a construction zone. Another vehicle struck Deputy Miller's patrol car from behind, pushing it from the roadway. Deputy Miller had served with the Maury County Sheriff's Office for 19 years. He is survived by his wife, two children, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.(https://www.odmp.org/)

Firefighter/ Medic Charles D. Swank

On Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, while attending fire department mandated training in Pensacola, Florida, Firefighter/Paramedic Charles D. Swank suffered a medical emergency. He was immediately transported to the local hospital where he passed away a short time later. The cause of his death has yet to be determined.(usfa.fema.gov)

Border Patrol Agent Raul Gonzalez

Dec 7, 2022, Border Patrol Agent Raul Gonzalez passed away from injuries sustained in an ATV accident while pursuing subjects illegally crossing the border near Mission at 1:00 am. Agent Gonzalez was traveling at high speed when he crashed. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Agent Gonzalez had served with the United States Department of Homeland Security - Customs and Border Protection - United States Border Patrol for over ten years and was assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Sector McAllen Station. He is survived by his son, daughter, father, brother, grandmother, girlfriend, aunts, and uncles.(https://www.odmp.org/)

Assistant Chief Zachary  Paris

On Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022, Assistant Chief Zachary Paris and Firefighter Marvin Gruber responded to a residential fire with possible entrapment, in West Penn Township. Approximately 1 hour into the fire, maydays were received from these firefighters on the second floor. On scene Rapid Intervention Teams went to rescue the 2 firefighters. They were removed and immediately transported to St. Luke’s Miners Hospital in Coaldale, PA. (usfa.fema.gov)

Firefighter Marvin Gruber

On Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022, Assistant Chief Zachary Paris and Firefighter Marvin Gruber responded to a residential fire with possible entrapment, in West Penn Township. Approximately 1 hour into the fire, maydays were received from these firefighters on the second floor. On scene Rapid Intervention Teams went to rescue the 2 firefighters. Deputy Sheriff José DeLeon

On Dec 4, 2022, Deputy Sheriff José DeLeon was killed in a vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 401, approximately one mile south of Warrenton, while responding to a domestic violence call involving a firearm at about 6:00 pm. His patrol car left the roadway, struck a tree, and caught fire. Other deputies responding to the same call came across the crash and attempted to pull him from the wreckage. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Deputy DeLeon had served with the Warren County Sheriff's Office for two years. He is survived by his son, parents, sister, two brothers, niece, grandmother, and girlfriend. (https://www.odmp.org/)

Firefighter Kurt  Keilhofer

On Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, Firefighter Kurt Keilhofer was at the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Route 655 in Union Township. While at the scene, another vehicle, not involved in the initial crash, hit Firefighter Keilhofer. He was immediately taken to the Penn Highlands Hospital in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, where he was later pronounced deceased. Investigation into the incident is ongoing. (usfa.fema.gov)

Detective Sergeant Frank Gualdino

Detective Sergeant Frank Gualdino was killed in a vehicle crash on Tuckahoe Road at 3:30 pm on December 1st, 2022. He was driving westbound when an oncoming vehicle lost control and collided with his unmarked vehicle and a transit bus. Detective Gualdino was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The bus driver and passengers were treated for minor injuries. The 16-year-old unlicensed driver who caused the crash was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Detective Gualdino had served with the Yonkers Police Department for 24 years and was due to retire in August 2023. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and son. Detective Sergeant Gualdino was posthumously promoted. (https://www.odmp.org/)
